I feel like a broken record when I mention how I am NOT a blog writer. Truth is... it takes me so long to write all these posts. Too long! (Especially considering how most of them are only a few sentences long...). It’s not because the weddings we shoot aren’t inspiring, don’t get me wrong! That’s exactly it. They’re inspiring, beautiful, filled with love and I don’t want to ruin these blogs with my mediocre writing…

I chose photography because a photo is worth a thousand words! So, after many many minutes of sitting at the computer starring at a blank Word page... Isabelle and Mladen’s wedding day started so smoothly. I arrived at Isabelle’s sisters’ home to snap a few photos of the girls getting ready. I walked in excepting the usual “morning of the wedding chaos” and was pleasantly surprised to see how calm the vibe was. Isabelle and her sister were sipping on their mimosas getting pampered by the lovely Meghan Harvey. Everything was going so smoothly…until... we noticed a tiny makeup stain on her wedding gown and spent a good hour trying to dab it off! Fortunately, we were able to make it disappear. FEW! Meanwhile, across the river into the neighbouring province, Mladen was getting his own pampering done: fresh haircut & shave. Perfect way to start your wedding day!

We made our way to Rockcliffe Park where the ceremony was to be held under the Pavillion. It was the perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony as I & M exchanged their personal vows with the lovely Ottawa river as a background. Swooning as we reminisce. And of course, to top it all off, we got the MOST AMAZING golden hour to chase light with the newlyweds. The night ended with an amazing party, going strong, thanks to the talented DJ & live band.

Isabelle & Mladen, Mat and I wish you all the best as husband & wife (+ your sweet little Emma). We can't wait to see what the future holds for your beautiful family.
