A SURPRISE PROPOSAL IN NYC'S GRAMERCY PARK
I received a phone call a few months ago from my big sis stating that she was planning to propose to her girlfriend and would love it if I could be there (and obviously snap a few photos too!).
Fast forward to last weekend. I arrived in NYC Friday night and couldn’t contain my excitement. I had to keep it together since I was staying with the two of them for the weekend…
Thank goodness my sister is an event producer. She had everything planned and organized down to having a plan C & D!
Since moving to New York City almost 10 years ago, Roxie has had getting in to Gramercy Park on her bucket list. It’s important to mention here that this is one of TWO private parks in New York City. Only people residing around the park who pay an annual fee have a key OR guests from the Gramercy Park Hotel. This is where the proposal was going to happen!
“I want to keep doing new things with you”
The big day finally arrived, and Geneviève couldn’t stop checking her phone for weather updates. They were calling for rain ALL day… which was a bit stressful since we needed the park for plan A. Did I mention the park is closed if it’s raining? Moments before Roxie arrived to meet Geneviève, it stopped raining and we got access to the park! We took a stroll through the park and Geneviève took a moment to pop the question… After she said YES we went back to the hotel to celebrate in their hotel room with a cheese board & bubbly. Roxie wasn’t aware of one last big surprise… 30 of their closest friends from across the country gathered in the hotel bar for a surprise engagement party.
I’m still getting so emotional typing this special blog post.
Geneviève & Roxie, I couldn’t be happier for the two of you and wish you ALL the best!
