Back in February we took Valérie & Brendan’s engagement photos on a rainy (that’s right, we used rainy and February in the same sentence…) Sunday afternoon in a gorgeous greenhouse in Ottawa. After snapping a few photos, we knew how easy our job would be on their wedding day. V&B are so very in love, easy going and up for anything!
The day started off on the red covered bridge in Wakefield for a simple romantic ceremony. The couple shared their own vows (pretty sure Valérie had everyone tearing up) and got showered with rice & bubbles as they walked down the aisle as newlyweds.
After taking a few family photos by the bridge we decided to head over to the Wakefield Mill for their couple photos. Once again, the two acted so natural and so in the moment with each other all we had to do was keep on shooting away!
Since we weren’t staying too late at the reception, we decided to have V&B share their first dance in a gorgeous field not too far from the Mill. We played a song from the car. Brendan twirling Valérie really showed the unique details to Valérie’s custom dress made by Guylaine Taillefer.
From there, we ended the day at Fauna, a rustic yet stylish, locally-sourced small plate restaurant on Bank street. They had the perfect setting for an intimate wedding reception.
Nothing like some classic photobombing by the bridesmaids!
